Mechanical Design Technician (CAD/BIM) – Rochdale

DATS Engineering is hiring a Mechanical Design Technician (CAD/BIM) on behalf of a specialist design and build contractor delivering cleanrooms, laboratories, and high-tech environments for the pharmaceutical, life sciences, and healthcare sectors.

The Role

As a Mechanical Design Technician (CAD/BIM), you will:

• Produce coordinated mechanical drawings in AutoCAD and Revit
• Support projects from concept through to detailed design
• Ensure compliance with technical, H&S, and quality standards
• Work with multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff
• Assist with surveys, as-built models, and BIM Level 2 delivery

What We’re Looking For

• ONC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (latest versions)
• Mechanical design experience in regulated environments (pharmaceutical/healthcare ideal)
• Knowledge of BIM processes, CDM regulations, and risk assessments
• Strong communication, teamwork, and attention to detail
