Your new roleLead mechanical design strategy and performance across a diverse property portfolioReview and approve technical specifications, ensuring alignment with internal standards and legal obligationsProvide expert input on Building Regulations - especially ventilation standards and SFG20 complianceManage external consultancies: assess outputs, challenge assumptions, and uphold a high technical barInfluence senior stakeholders and external agencies with clarity and confidenceSupport value engineering initiatives - every pound spent must be justified and rationalCollaborate with electrical counterparts and wider design teams to ensure joined-up deliveryRepresent mechanical engineering at senior forums, with the potential to grow into Head of EngineeringWhat you''ll need to succeedChartered status or working towards ECUK registrationDeep technical knowledge of HVAC, fire, refrigeration, water hygiene, and mechanical systemsMastery of UK Building Regulations and compliance frameworksExperience managing consultancy outputs and working within complex stakeholder environmentsResilience, self-sufficiency, and the ability to spin multiple platesStrong communication skills - able to simplify technical issues and influence at all levelsA background in consultancy or client-side engineering
