Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client is a leading manufacturer of automotive components and Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Mechanical Design Engineer. Excellent salary 45K - 50K Negotiable + benefitsThe Role:Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the design and development of components for used for automotive applications supporting programmes from initial concept through production implementation.Duties will include but is not limited to the following;Lead the design and development of automotive products, mechanical components, from concept through full product life-cycle, including production implementation.Interpret customer specifications and requirements to define design parameters, ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and regulatory standards.Develop detailed product specifications by analysing functional requirements, materials, performance, cost and operational efficiency.Create and maintain design data including engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, and bill of materials in accordance with established engineering standards.Validate and verify design performance through analysis, testing, and interpretation of results, ensuring conformance to qualification requirements and reliability targets.Candidate:You will have at least 5 years previous mechanical design experience preferably within the metal manufacturing or automotive sectors.
