Undertake heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water and drainage calculations. Size and select mechanical plant, equipment, ductwork and pipework. Produce and review mechanical drawings, schematics, specifications and equipment schedules. Coordinate mechanical services with electrical, public health, architectural and structural designs. Attend design-team meetings, coordination workshops and site inspections. Review contractor technical submissions and respond to RFIs. Assist with surveys of existing buildings and prepare associated reports. Support senior engineers while taking responsibility for allocated areas and smaller projects. Ensure designs comply with current Building Regulations, CIBSE guidance and relevant British Standards. Experience and skills Approximately 3 5 years experience in mechanical building-services design. Experience working for an MEP consultancy or similar design organisation.
