Shillito Group are delighted to be partnering with a leading international manufacturing business company based in Sheffield, in their search for a Mechanical Design Engineer. Specialising in advanced products used in a range of industrial and consumer settings, they are always improving their product portfolio and bringing new products to market with a focus on R&D.

The role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to take an important role in the engineering team. You will be involved with ongoing product enhancements, solving complex design challenges and spearheading breakthroughs in new product development.

Key Responsibilities

• Be involved in the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies, from concept through to manufacture.

• Review, develop and approve technical drawings.

• Work closely with the manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.

• Provide technical assistance and leadership to more junior team members.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in Mechanical Design

• R&D and new product develoment.

• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).

• Good understanding of materials, tolerancing, and manufacturing methods.

• Strong communication, leadership, and team mentoring skills.
