Mechanical Engineering Project EngineerA long-established engineering business specialising in bespoke air filtration and product collection systems for sectors such as food, pharmaceuticals, minerals and chemicals is seeking to expand its team. Due to recent growth, the company is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Project Engineer to join its experienced technical team.The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering background, qualified to HND level or above, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients and suppliers. Experience in air movement or materials handling is beneficial but not essential. Candidates with strong AutoCAD 2D and SolidWorks 3D draughting skills who wish to progress intoProject Management are also encouraged to apply. Typical ResponsibilitiesProject management of contracts from sales handover through to delivery or installation.Assisting with - and eventually leading - site surveys and measurements.Producing plant layouts, general assemblies, and fabrication drawings using AutoCAD LT (2D) and SolidWorks (3D).Purchasing and negotiating with approved suppliers.Working within an ISO9001 quality system.Updating and maintaining job costing spreadsheets.Occasional involvement in installation and commissioning, including short periods working away from home.Conducting progress and final inspections at supplier sites.Preparing data dossiers and OandM manuals.Checking and approving supplier invoices.
