£35,000 - £45,000 per annumWe are seeking a talented and driven Mechanical Design Engineer with a focus on robotics, automation, and special-purpose machinery to join our client in Bedford. This is an exciting opportunity to work on innovative engineering projects from concept through to manufacture, integrating mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.Key Responsibilities:Design and develop automated machinery, robotic systems, and mechanical components using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)Create detailed 3D models, assembly drawings, and manufacturing documentationWork closely with electrical and controls engineers to integrate automation and robotics into machinery designsPerform engineering calculations, structural analysis, and design validation to ensure performance and safety standards are metCollaborate with manufacturing, assembly, and testing teams to ensure smooth project deliveryManage projects from initial concept through to commissioning, ensuring timelines and budgets are metSupport continuous improvement initiatives, applying innovative design solutions to increase efficiency and productivitySkills and Qualifications:Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplineProven experience in mechanical design for robotics, automation, or special-purpose machineryProficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)Understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and automation principlesExperience working alongside electrical and control engineering teamsStrong problem-solving abilities and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamExcellent communication and organisational skillsIf you or anyone you know would be a good fit for the role, click apply or send your up-to-date CV to ..... full job details .....
