Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead and deliver mechanical building services design projects within the construction sector, with a particular focus on data centres, industrial and commercial developments. This permanent role involves managing medium to large-scale projects from concept through to delivery, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and maintaining strong relationships with clients and contractors.Key Responsibilities:Lead mechanical engineering design and project delivery across a range of building services projects.Produce detailed mechanical designs, calculations, specifications, drawings and technical documentation.Manage project programmes, quality requirements, workload priorities and commercial objectives.Design and specify mechanical systems, controls, instrumentation and operating solutions where appropriate.Coordinate mechanical services with architects, structural engineers and other project disciplines.Carry out site inspections, condition surveys, testing and dilapidation assessments of existing installations.Provide technical advice at design reviews, workshops and project meetings, acting as a key client contact.Support sustainable design solutions, undertake quality checks and mentor graduate and junior engineers.Job Requirements:HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification supported by relevant industry experience.Experience in mechanical building services design across multiple RIBA stages.Strong ..... full job details .....
