A Product Design Engineer with experience of Solidworks or similar 3D CAD software is sought by a busy Engineering company in the West MidlandsWorking within a busy Design team you will be responsible for mechanical design, producing drawings in a controlled manner, and working with the design team and purchasing department through design and development, concept through to implementation. The key elements of your role will be as follows: -Design and 3D modelling of assemblies including metalwork, sheet metal fabrication and machined metal using Solidworks.Design and 3D modelling plastics for Rapid prototyping, soft tooling and hard tooling using Solidworks.Create and maintain part numbers and drawing numbers using Drawing and ECN register and MRP system.Liaise with colleagues and project teams to ensure collaboration over product development processes.Drawing and maintaining technical wiring diagrams.Create and maintain BOM (Bill of Materials) using MRP System.Apply the Engineering Change Process to effectively introduce design changes.Provide support, as required, to the Purchasing/Supply Chain teamsThe Type of Person We Are Looking ForYou will have experience of being a Product Design Engineer from Mechanical, Industrial, aerospace or product background and ideally have a degree or equivalent in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field, or significant relative experience in a similar role.You will need to have strong 3D CAD skills, ..... full job details .....
