Mechanical Design Engineer

We're looking for a highly experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering business in Stockport known for designing and manufacturing safety-critical equipment used across industrial environments.

This is a role suited to someone who’s been there, done it and can take designs from concept through to manufacture with minimal guidance.

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Design Engineer?

• Designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies
• Producing detailed CAD drawings and technical documentation
• Supporting bids, quotes and new product development projects
• Improving designs for performance, cost and manufacturability
• Liaising with internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery

What do you need?

• Significant experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer within an engineering/manufacturing environment
• Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks and PDM systems
• Proven experience taking designs from concept through to manufacture
• A solid understanding of materials, tolerances, and manufacturing processes
• Confidence working independently and making technical decisions
