Mechanical Design Engineer

A great opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a Global Electrical and Design Contractor has become available based near Coventry, England. You will be joining a team of established Design Engineers working on a range of projects involving rotating machinery and power generation. You will be responsible for the design, analysis and continuous improvement of mechanical systems and components. Responsibilities: Design mechanical components and systems for large rotating machinery. Develop mechanical designs for new build equipment, upgrades, and retrofit solutions. Produce detailed CAD models, engineering drawings, and design documentation for complex components. Complete stress analysis of components using analytical methods and finite element analysis (FEA). Undertake diagnostic assessments of machinery condition prior to failure. Conduct root cause analysis. Produce technical reports and engineering recommendations based on findings. Develop test methodologies and procedures for dynamic testing of large machines. Participate in engineering activities across all phases of projects, including customer-facing technical discussions. Ensure mechanical designs comply with contractual requirements, industry standards, and internal quality systems. Qualifications/ Experience: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
