Mechanical Design Engineer

What you will do

• Design parts and assemblies in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor or Creo)
• Produce detailed drawings with correct GD&T
• Carry out design calculations and tolerance analysis
• Work with production to make designs easy and cheap to build
• Support prototyping, testing and design changes
• Keep the bill of materials and engineering records up to date

What you need

• Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, or similar
• 2+ years in a mechanical design role
• Strong 3D CAD skills and solid knowledge of GD&T
• Understanding of materials and manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, fabrication, moulding)
• Clear communication and good attention to detail

Nice to have

• FEA experience
• Experience with PDM/PLM systems
• Working towards IEng or CEng
