An engineering company based in Peterborough is looking to expand their team by hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer. This is a great opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects within a supportive and growing design team.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following:

• Degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  
  
• 2+ years of experience in mechanical design
  
  
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks)
  
  
• Knowledge of materials, fabrication, and manufacturing processes
  
  
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  
  
• Good communication and teamworking skills
  
  
• Attention to detail and a proactive attitude

The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:

• Designing components and assemblies using CAD
  
  
• Creating and updating technical drawings and BOMs
  
  
• Supporting product development from concept through to manufacture
  
  
• Liaising with other departments to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability
  
  
• Modifying existing designs based on performance feedback or customer requirements
  
  
• Contributing to continuous improvement within the design function
