Our client, a global name in energy infrastructure, is driving forward the delivery of innovative transmission projects that enable a sustainable energy future. They are seeking a Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer to strengthen their Manchester-based design team. In this role, you''ll be responsible for creating and reviewing design solutions for auxiliary systems on renewable energy projects, collaborating with specialists in a progressive and supportive environment.

Auxiliary Systems Scope:
- HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Cooling)
- Hot & Cold-Water plumbing systems
- Building performance modelling & regulatory compliance
- Low-carbon solutions and sustainable design
- Building management & control systems
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop designs for auxiliary systems that align with contractual, legal, client, and industry requirements.
- Assess client-provided specifications and enquiry documentation.
- Validate and approve technical specifications for auxiliary systems on HV projects before and after contract award.
- Review supplier drawings and design deliverables throughout project execution.
- Conduct technical assessments of subcontractor design packages, ensuring adherence to standards.
- Collaborate with project planners to prepare and review schedules.
- Contribute to and manage design and project risk registers.
- Take ownership of personal workload, resources, programme deliverables, and budget allocation.
Requirements:
- HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
- BS7671 (18th edition) certification.
- Proven experience designing with Dialux, Amtech and/or Hevacomp.
- Background in engineering design for industrial or infrastructure applications.
- Competence with AutoCAD / Revit is desirable.
- Ability to draft clear "Scope of Services" documentation is an advantage.
