Mechanical Design Engineer

Position: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Sheffield Salary: 35,000 - 38,000 circa Depending on experience Our client is a well-established engineering business specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of specialist bar, cable and welded systems for structural and engineering applications. Due to continued development, they are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their existing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer with a strong design and engineering background to take responsibility for mechanical design, calculations and technical documentation, while working closely with engineering, project, quality and site teams. Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview Produce and review mechanical designs and technical drawings for assemblies used within structural and engineering applications.Create, modify and review 3D CAD models, assemblies and technical drawings using a CAD platform, ideally SolidWorks or Solid Edge.Carry out fundamental engineering calculations covering stresses, shear, bending, bearing and combined loading.Assess load paths and identify critical sections and stress areas to ensure designs meet strength requirements and relevant client specifications.Support the Site Services team with on-site installation and tensioning activities associated with specialist bar systems.Prepare technical documentation packages for customers, agents, distributors and auditors, including test reports, ..... full job details .....
