Mechanical Design Engineer - Avionics

Outside IR35

Hybrid working - Hampshire

• Utilising Solidworks to create detailed assembly drawings for complex multi-part assemblies
• Producing drawings for electronic assemblies, although experience with other types of assemblies is also beneficial
• Applying knowledge of common manufacturing processes involved in electronics and box build processes
• Delivering strong technical presentations, both written and verbal
• Receiving feedback from senior design sign-offs and updating drawings accordingly
• Adhering to tight deadlines while maintaining a keen eye for detail

• Experience with Solidworks, including drawing creation
• Proven track record in producing assembly drawings for complex multi-part assemblies
• Understanding of common manufacturing processes involved in electronics and box build processes
• Strong written and verbal presentation skills
• Ability to handle feedback and update designs appropriately
• Attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines

• Hands-on electronics manufacturing experience (e.g., soldering, box build, staking, conformal coating)
• Relevant IPC standard qualification (even if expired)
• Contextual knowledge of aircraft systems and aerospace processes
• Experience with avionics packaging
• Familiarity with Engineering Change Order processes
• Experience with Solidworks PDM
