Mechanical Design Engineer

Duration: 6-12 monthsLocation: Plymouth (on-site 2-3 days per week)Vetting Level: A / B - (preferred A)Key Responsibilities: Design and Development: Create detailed designs and specifications for mechanical systems using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) specifically for nuclear applications.Prototyping: Develop and test prototypes to validate designs, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards.Research: Conduct technical research to inform design and engineering methods, focusing on nuclear-specific requirements.Project Management: Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring adherence to nuclear industry regulations.Collaboration: Liaise with clients, designers, engineers, and manufacturers to ensure coherence and quality, particularly in the context of nuclear safety.Documentation: Prepare technical reports, design specifications documents, and operational manuals, ensuring compliance with nuclear regulatory standards.
