Mechanical Craftsperson - Selly Oak Hours: Monday to Friday Shift pattern between 08:00-16:00 or 11:00-19:00Payrate: 16.38 - 19.30 p/h inc. hol. pay The RolePPM Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a leading Facilities Management provider to recruit an experienced Mechanical Craftsperson Contract in Birmingham.This is a key role within a busy healthcare environment, responsible for delivering high-quality planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive mechanical maintenance across a large NHS estate. The position is primarily based at the Acute Hospital, with additional support required at the Mental Health Unit and retained estate when needed.You''ll be working to strict HTM standards, contractual KPIs, and Health and Safety regulations to ensure the estate remains safe, compliant, and fully operational. Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out PPM, testing, fault finding and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant and systemsWork on equipment including AHUs, FCUs, boilers, calorifiers, plantroom equipment and associated servicesEnsure all works are completed in line with HTMs, statutory regulations, CDM and site proceduresAccurately record all works via CAFM systems (Maximo or similar)Diagnose faults and carry out unsupervised repairs, escalating issues where requiredSupport Mechanical Team Leader and wider engineering teams with technical knowledgeMaintain workshops and work areas in a clean, tidy and safe conditionWork across sensitive hospital environments ..... full job details .....
