We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join our client based at their regional office in Bradford, West Yorkshire. You will oversee building services packages across a diverse portfolio of projects in education, commercial, and residential sectors with values between £100k and £5m. Responsibilities include negotiating contract terms, monitoring project progress and performance, ensuring compliance with legislation and company policies, resolving contractual and technical challenges, and maintaining detailed records. This role requires close collaboration with design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure mechanical systems are executed to high quality standards, within established timelines and budgets.What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:SMSTSValid CSCS / JIB CardFirst Aid (desirable but not essential)Experience:Extensive background in mechanical engineering and knowledge of mechanical principlesPrevious experience as a Contracts Manager or in a similar role for a Building Services or MEP subcontractorProven history of overseeing multiple projects across sectors including education, commercial, and residential with values between £100k - £2mKey Skills:IT SkillsStrong analytical abilitiesQuality and risk managementLeadership capabilitiesBudget managementContract negotiation and understanding of contract lawUnderstanding of mechanical engineering principles, systems and technologiesKnowledge of local, national, and international regulations affecting mechanical systemsKey Responsibilities
Assign and manage contractorsApply in-depth mechanical knowledge to projectsPrepare, review, negotiate, and implement contractsProvide regular reports to internal and external stakeholdersCoordinate terms across client and supplier relationshipsEnsure adherence to laws, regulations, and company policiesImplement and supervise health and safety auditing on-siteTrack project budgets and ensure expenditure controlOversee development and review of mechanical system designs and drawingsAssess contract-related risks and develop mitigation strategiesCommunicate contractual changes to stakeholdersManage contract modifications and assess impact on scope, timeline, and budgetCoordinate mechanical installation projects to meet client and corporate expectationsMonitor contractor compliance and address performance issuesEnsure contract deliverables meet quality standardsIdentify and resolve issues during contract executionMonitor installations to comply with industry standards and building codesCoordinate tenders, cost estimation, and project development in preconstruction and construction phasesOversee all aspects of mechanical contracts, including review, negotiation, and finalizationMaintain detailed contract documentation and provide management with performance reportsAct as primary point of contact for clients regarding mechanical servicesWhy Join?
