Mechanical Building Services Engineer

Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Building Services Engineer on a Permanent Basis, based in London Overview We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Building Services Engineer to work on our healthcare construction projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, delivery, and maintenance of mechanical systems in hospital environments, ensuring compliance with healthcare technical standards and supporting the creation of safe, efficient, and resilient clinical facilities. Key Responsibilities Design and Engineering o Develop mechanical building services designs, including HVAC, ventilation, domestic water, medical gases, public health systems, and associated plant. o Produce detailed calculations, equipment selections, and technical specifications in line with HTMs, HBNs, CIBSE guidelines, and other healthcare regulations. o Coordinate mechanical layouts using BIM/3D modelling tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks). Project Delivery o Prepare design drawings, reports, schedules, and tender documentation. o Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (architectural, electrical, clinical planners) to ensure integrated solutions. o Support project design reviews, risk assessments, and technical workshops.
