Questech Recruitment are currently looking for a Finishing Assembly Line Operative to join a busy manufacturing team in Blackpool.

This is a hands-on assembly role working with hand tools and battery-operated power tools to assemble mechanical and electrical components in the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Production line assembly using hand tools and battery-operated power tools
  • Working from work instructions, build aids and on-screen information
  • Assembling components to takt time whilst achieving a sustainable output rate
  • All actions to meet the correct standard of quality in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements
  • Recognise internal and external suppliers and support them accordingly
  • Promote a proactive approach to team and quality initiatives
  • Handle day-to-day product quality issues

Accountabilities & Commitments

  • Deliver production line assembly tasks in line with defined work instructions, build aids and on-screen information
  • Consistently meet takt time and required output levels whilst maintaining a sustainable work pace
  • Identify, report and support resolution of non-conformances in products or processes
  • Take ownership for ensuring all products are fully operational, effective and defect-free before leaving manufacturing
  • Maintain a proactive approach to team working, continuous improvement and quality initiatives
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external suppliers, supporting smooth production flow
  • Demonstrate the ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to assemble mechanical and electrical components
  • Take responsibility for day-to-day quality issues using sound judgement and decision-making

What We're Looking For Essential

  • Experience within an assembly or fitting environment
  • Ability to use industry-related hand tools and assembly techniques
  • Ability to fit standard mechanical and electrical parts

Desirable

  • Experience within the automotive or commercial vehicle industry
  • Assembler, Fitter or Mechanical qualification
  • Automotive or Light Vehicle training
  • Knowledge of 5S processes
  • Experience of method improvements
  • Design involvement experience
