Mechanical Assembler/Tester

Our client, a leading organisation within the defence and security sector, is seeking a Mechanical Assembler/Tester to join its assembly team in Havant on a contract basis. The role involves precision mechanical assembly and testing of engineered components and systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, quality standards and safety regulations.Key Responsibilities:Assemble mechanical components and systems in line with engineering drawings, work instructions and specificationsCarry out functional and pressure testing using appropriate tools and equipmentIdentify, record and report non-conformances or defects during assembly and testingMaintain accurate build, test and traceability documentationWork with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issuesFollow all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of personal protective equipmentSupport continuous improvement activities within the assembly cell and wider production environmentMaintain a clean, organised and safe workshop areaJob Requirements:Experience in mechanical assembly and testing, ideally within a defence, marine or heavy engineering environmentBackground as a Mechanical Fitter or mechanical assembler.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, method sheets and engineering specificationsFamiliarity with precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, callipers and gaugesUnderstanding of hydraulic or pneumatic systems is desirableStrong attention to detail and a ..... full job details .....
