Mechanical Engineer (Factory Maintenance)Role PurposeTo provide expert mechanical maintenance support across a high-volume production facility, ensuring machinery reliability, minimising downtime, and contributing to ongoing engineering improvements. This is a hands-on role suited to an engineer who enjoys problem-solving, precision work, and being actively involved in the day-to-day running of a busy manufacturing site.Core ResponsibilitiesConduct planned, reactive, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of mechanical equipmentDiagnose mechanical faults quickly and effectively, implementing robust long-term solutionsSupport continuous improvement initiatives, contributing engineering insight to process optimisationMaintain and repair steam systems, compressors, pumps, valves, conveyors, and weighing systemsProduce, modify, and repair components using workshop machinery and fabrication toolsEnsure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with regulatory and internal standardsCollaborate with production teams to reduce downtime and enhance operational performanceMaintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to engineering planningRequired Qualifications and ExperienceHNC/HND (or equivalent) in a Mechanical Engineering discipline, or substantial proven experienceStrong background infast-paced, high-pressure manufacturing environments17th Edition IET Electrical Regulations qualificationDemonstrable experience working with:Steam boilers and associated ..... full job details .....
