We are looking for an experienced M & E (Mechanical and Electrical) buyer. This is an excellent opportunity for an established mechanical and electrical buyer to join a welcoming team. The role is based in Bracknell RG. The mechanical and electrical buyer role will involve working directly with several team members. Your role will include buying Mechanical materials for projects. This will include working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to review the current supply chain and help negotiate current rates and terms of business.

We are looking for Mechanical and Electrical Buyers with:

• Experienced Purchasing background in relevant discipline or industry

• Strong organisation and negotiation skills

• A flexible, responsive approach and mindset to work productively in a busy environment

• A good working knowledge of Excel and the ability to learn to use specialist software –

Ground plan (estimating)/QuickBooks/Zahara

• Excellent and efficient communication and interpersonal skills

• Have confidence to challenge the norm and influence decisions

• Confidence to work with large clients

• Driven and motivated to achieve results

• A good understanding of technical terms with respect to Mechanical and/or Electronic

materials, to enable confident communication with suppliers and internal engineering

The role for Mechanical and Electrical Buyer will include:

Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers

• Review opportunities to make business savings utilising negotiation and procurement best

practice tools and methods

• Take ownership for daily activities in respect of suppliers.

• Full management of ‘call off’ items for larger projects

• Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new

projects, design changes and supply chain initiative.

• Offer advice on impact of change on purchasing and production activities

• Ensure continuous supply of required goods and materials and communicate any supply

problems which may pose a risk or impact on business operations

• Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets.
