About the Role
Pertemps Edinburgh Contracts seeks a Mechanic for a full-time, temporary role based in Edinburgh (EH11 2LP), offering £18.34 per hour. Working 36 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, you will join an established Fleet team tasked with keeping light vehicles roadworthy and compliant. Duties include performing repairs and maintenance to VOSA and manufacturer standards, conducting MOT testing where required, and using diagnostic equipment for fault finding. You will also request parts, maintain accurate paper and electronic records, and prepare vehicles for service. Previous experience in a similar position is essential. The assignment starts as soon as possible. This position suits a skilled technician who works efficiently and supports team objectives while upholding rigorous quality standards.
Mechanic (Light Vehicles)
Location – EH11 2LP
Hours – Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
Pay rate - £18.34 per hour
Duration – temporary
Start ASAP
You will be working as part of an established Fleet team to ensure that vehicles are maintained to the required standard.
You will be carrying out, but not be limited to:
- Repair and maintain vehicles to VOSA / manufacturer standards
- MOT testing (where required)
- Supporting the team to ensure works are carried out
- Ensure all works are carried out in a cost effective manner
- Request parts as required
- Use diagnostic equipment to assist with fault diagnosis and rectification
- Complete documentation – both paper and electronically – to maintain accurate records
- Cleaning and preparing vehicles
- Any other tasks as required
You must have previous experience in a similar role and be a strong team member.
