Position: Maths Teacher
Location: Near Totton, Southampton
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (with potential to become permanent)
Pay Range: £165 – £245 per day (depending on experience)
Working Hours: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Overview
A secondary school close to Totton, Southampton, is looking for a Maths Teacher to join the team from September 2025. This is a full-time role teaching Key Stages 3 and 4, initially on a long-term basis with the possibility of a permanent contract.
Responsibilities
- Teach Maths to KS3 and KS4 classes.
- Plan and deliver lessons that support progress across different ability levels.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student achievement.
- Work with colleagues in the department to share resources and approaches.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school when required.

The school serves students aged 11–16 and is known locally for being welcoming and inclusive. The Maths department is established and supportive, with experienced staff and good access to resources. Professional development is encouraged, with CPD and mentoring available for both new and experienced teachers.
Requirements
- UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Subject knowledge and experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- A commitment to working as part of a team and supporting student achievement.
- Open to applications from both ECTs and experienced teachers.
