This school supports students aged 13-16 (KS3 and KS4) who cannot access mainstream education due to behavioural, emotional, or social challenges.
This is a full-time role starting in September 2025, with interviews and trial days taking place as soon as possible. It''s the perfect opportunity for a skilled teacher who can inspire and re-engage learners in mathematics while providing the support they need to succeed.
Location: Nottingham (NG5)
Daily Rate: -180 - -250 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only, Long Term to Permanent

About the Role
As a GCSE Maths Teacher in this Alternative Provision, you will plan and deliver engaging maths lessons tailored to the individual needs of KS3 and KS4 learners. You will use a creative and flexible approach to help students re-engage with education, build confidence in numeracy, and work towards GCSE accreditation. This is an opportunity to use your teaching skills in a setting that values relationship-building and individual progress as much as academic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and teach high-quality GCSE maths lessons adapted to a range of learning needs.
Work with KS3 and KS4 students to develop both numeracy skills and exam readiness.
Build positive relationships to encourage students to take responsibility for learning and behaviour.
Use assessment data to track progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with behaviour mentors and support staff to create a safe and engaging learning environment.
Support behaviour management strategies to help students succeed both academically and personally.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or eligibility, with experience teaching GCSE maths.
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to engage learners with challenging behaviour.
Empathy, patience, and resilience to support students in overcoming barriers to learning.
A genuine commitment to making a positive difference in young people''s lives.
