Maths Teacher 0.6 FTE - SEND, Post-16 Location: Trowbridge, Wilts Start date: ASAP Type: Part-time, temp-to-perm (between Monday to Thursday) Salary: £25,410 - £39,300 pa Our client is an independent post-16 education setting providing bespoke learning programmes to support post-16 both academically and pastorally. Invariably the learners may have had adverse experience of education or barriers to a full/formal education pathway, so supporting their educational development, emotional health/self-esteem are important in equal measures for the person considering this role. The right person will ideally be a UK qualified teacher, with QTS/QTLS/PGCE/Cert Ed specialising in Maths. However, if you have a teaching qualification without QTS and have proven experience of delivering UK curriculum-based lessons, we''d still love to hear from you. Having experience of teaching learners with SEND in the UK education system is the key focus. Learners can display challenging behaviour however staff use trauma informed approach and are appropriately trained in de-escalation strategies. The ideal candidate will already have this type of experience and training although training would be provided to align with their approach. Overall, creativity, perseverance and an empathetic approach when working with the learners is key to engaging them in education and ensuring their progression.
