We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Lecturer to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills Maths across a range of curriculum areas. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking FE college where Maths is central to student success and progression.

You will teach GCSE and Functional Skills Maths to learners across a variety of vocational pathways, playing a key role in improving achievement, engagement, and progression outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deliver high-quality GCSE and Functional Skills Maths lessons to 16-18 learners
• Plan and prepare engaging schemes of work, lessons, and resources
• Assess student progress through coursework, exams, and ongoing feedback
• Monitor attendance, achievement, and behaviour, implementing interventions where needed
• Support student inductions, progress reviews, and pastoral development
• Contribute to curriculum development and course leadership where required
• Utilise e-learning and digital tools to enhance delivery
• Participate in open days, recruitment events, and quality improvement processes

• Degree in Maths (or related subject) or strong experience teaching GCSE Maths
• Experience delivering GCSE and/or Functional Skills Maths
• Minimum Level 5 teaching qualification (PGCE/DET or equivalent) or willingness to work towards
• Strong classroom management and ability to engage 16-18 learners
• Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills
• Commitment to inclusive learning, safeguarding, and equality & diversity

• Experience working within Further Education
• Ability to take on course leadership responsibilities
• Understanding of GCSE and Functional Skills assessment frameworks
