Materials Quality Operative

Sheffield 32,350Alternating 6am to 2pm and 10am to 6pmShillito Group are recruiting for a client in Rotherham who need someone practical, reliable and switched on.This is a hands on role covering inspection, despatch and material movement within a busy manufacturing environment. You will be checking incoming and finished products, making sure materials are correctly identified and handling the paperwork when something is not right.You will also be moving material around site using FLTs, pendant cranes and sideloaders.The role will include:Inspecting incoming materials and finished productsChecking product identification and traceabilityRaising paperwork for non-conforming productsSupporting final inspection before despatchLoading, unloading and moving materialsUsing FLTs, pendant cranes and sideloadersHighlighting issues to Production ControlWorking to strict quality and health and safety proceduresSupporting improvement activity within the departmentYou do not need to come from a pure quality background.Someone from warehousing, manufacturing, engineering, steel or another heavy industrial environment could suit this well, as long as you are used to working safely, following procedures and paying close attention to detail.Experience with FLTs, pendant cranes or sideloaders would be a strong advantage.There is also genuine room to progress.
