      <description>Location: Barrow in Furness | Salary: &amp;pound;70000/annum | Type: Permanent | Please note, this role is based in Barrow-in-Furness working onsite 4-5 days per week    This role sits at Consultant/Technologist level and will act as a key technical authority in the manufacture of metallic components, particularly across forging, casting, and rolling processes. You will provide metallurgical support across Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain, helping to resolve technical issues during build and commissioning phases.     You will:     Advise design teams on material selection and corrosion management   Support knowledge sharing and capability development within Materials Technology   Lead and contribute to research activities, including authoring technical reports   Provide specialist metallurgical guidance to ensure consistent and timely investigations   Maintain and develop process instructions, standards, and best practices   Communicate technical findings and solutions clearly across multiple teams   Take ownership of manufacturing processes including forging, casting, and metal forming, with appropriate technical authority      Core requirements     Degree qualified (BEng/BSc) in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or similar   Strong knowledge of ferrous a...</description>
