Materials Controller

Job Title: Materials Controller Type: Permanent Location: South Wales Salary: £33,397 per annum Hours: 37 hours BRC are working closely with a leading housing organisation to recruit a Materials Controller to join their Property Services team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-driven, commercially minded and analytical professional who is passionate about value for money, data accuracy and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will monitor material usage, van stock, basket lists and ordering patterns across Property Services, identifying trends, inconsistencies and opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency. You''ll work closely with operatives, supervisors, suppliers, procurement and finance teams to ensure stock is managed effectively, materials are used consistently and the right products are available at the right time. Duties: Prepare van stock profiles in line with current stock usage. Conduct regular van stock audits, warehouse checks and materials spot checks. Validate stock consumption against jobs to identify over-use, under-use and inconsistencies. Monitor compliance with agreed van stock profiles and escalate concerns where required. Support the reduction of waste, incorrect ordering and unnecessary expenditure. Raise authorised orders for Repairs teams, ensuring correct cost coding and approval routes.
