Materials Buyer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Materials Buyer to join a well-established and highly regarded residential developer at their regional office in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire.

This is a fantastic chance to join a privately owned housebuilder known for delivering high-quality homes across the North of England and the South East.

Working as part of the commercial and procurement team, you will play a key role in sourcing and procuring materials across multiple residential developments, ensuring projects are supplied efficiently and cost-effectively.

As Materials Buyer, you will be responsible for:

• Procuring construction materials for multiple housing developments

• Managing supplier relationships and negotiating pricing agreements

• Preparing and issuing material orders in line with build programmes

• Monitoring material costs and identifying value engineering opportunities

• Ensuring materials are delivered to site on time and within budget

• Liaising closely with site teams, commercial teams and suppliers

• Maintaining accurate procurement records within the COINS system

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Previous experience working as a Buyer or Materials Buyer within construction

• Experience procuring building materials for housing or construction projects

• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail

• Experience using COINS (essential)

• The ability to work effectively within a busy office environment

• Salary up to -50,000 depending on experience
