Material Resource Planning Controller/Material Planner

- -26 Per hour
- 37 hours per week - Monday to Friday

Rullion are looking for an experienced Material Resource Planning (MRP) Controller to join a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled supply chain professional with experience in engineering, manufacturing, purchasing or logistics to play a key role in managing component availability, supplier performance and delivery plans.
You will be responsible for building, maintaining and communicating detailed delivery plans for specific part orders, ensuring supply chain commitments support the wider production plan and customer requirements. You will also provide key insight to the Supply Chain Management Team on any risks or implications that could affect delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to changes in demand and provide clear analysis of the impact on customer requirements and agreed business commitments.
- Maintain component planning data, including master and multifaceted data, to ensure demand is effectively cascaded through the supply chain.
- Plan and manage stock across the supply chain, ensuring agreed inventory levels are maintained and utilised appropriately.
- Maintain accurate supplier delivery commitments within SAP and manage schedule adherence, exception messages and supplier queries.
- Support the introduction of new parts in line with relevant supply chain processes and procedures.
- Identify and resolve potential delivery risks using standard systems, processes and reporting tools.
- Act as a key operational interface with suppliers, coordinating improvement activity across planning, inventory, delivery and lead-time performance.
- Lead supplier business reviews, ensuring requirements are being met across Quality, Cost and Delivery.
- Manage and coordinate delivery issues, including reporting shortages, recovery plans and potential impacts to production.
- Escalate supply chain risks and issues where required, ensuring appropriate actions are identified and implemented.
- Assess supplier load and capacity constraints and understand their potential impact on performance and delivery.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and customers to support business objectives.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Experience within Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Supply Chain or Logistics.
- A strong understanding of production planning and supply chain controls.
- Knowledge of quality systems, inventory management and relevant IT systems.
- Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive and robust approach to problem solving.
- The ability to take ownership, manage priorities and drive issues through to resolution.
- A customer-focused approach with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- A commitment to continuous personal and professional development.
