Material Logistics Coordinator

Material Logistics Coordinator – Spider is advertising on behalf of SP Industries, who are looking for a Material Logistics Coordinator to join their team in Ipswich, Suffolk. This is a key role managing the movement, receipt and dispatch of materials and products for domestic and international customers.

About the role

As a Material Logistics Coordinator, you will help manage the flow of materials and orders, coordinating deliveries and collections while meeting safety, quality, cost, customer and compliance requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Receiving, picking, packing and dispatching materials and customer orders
• Managing courier deliveries and collections, including tracking
• Coordinating with worldwide customs, freight forwarders and clearing agents
• Maintaining accurate inventory, investigating discrepancies and completing stock counts
• Maintaining import/export records and documentation to HMRC requirements
• Loading and unloading deliveries manually and by forklift
• Processing non-conforming stock and maintaining required documentation
• Supporting mechanical assembly, component inspection and record keeping
• Identifying improvement opportunities and supporting other production departments when required

You will work closely with the Production and Materials Control teams to plan and prioritise workloads. Overtime may be required to meet customer expectations, and staggered breaks are necessary to ensure the department remains staffed throughout the working day.

About you

You will have knowledge of import/export procedures and customs requirements, including Incoterms 2010®, with strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.

You’ll be a positive team player who can also work independently, with good communication skills, quality awareness and IT skills including MS Office.

Experience within a receiving/distribution environment, HMRC customs compliance, manual handling or mechanical assembly in light engineering would be advantageous.

A full clean driving licence and forklift licence are desirable.

This is a physical role involving materials ranging from a few grams to several hundred kilograms. You must be physically fit, follow appropriate manual handling practices and wear required PPE, including safety shoes.
