Hours : Part-time | 24 hours / 3 days per week

The opportunity
We are recruiting a creative, organised and proactive Marketing & Communications Lead for a specialist education setting in Somerset. This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys combining strategy with content creation and wants to make a visible impact in a values-led environment supporting children and young people with additional needs.
You will take ownership of the organisation''s day-to-day marketing and communications, helping to strengthen its profile, showcase achievements, build its digital presence and ensure communications are consistent, engaging and professional.
What you will be doing
- Plan and deliver marketing activity across the academic year, including campaigns, events and community engagement.
- Manage and develop the website, keeping content accurate, current and engaging.
- Own social media channels and the content calendar, creating regular posts, graphics, photography and short-form video.
- Produce newsletters, prospectuses, flyers, posters, signage and other communications and promotional materials.
- Capture and manage high-quality photography and video content, ensuring appropriate consent, safeguarding and GDPR requirements are followed.
- Support open days, key events, recruitment marketing and employer-brand activity.
- Identify positive stories and PR opportunities and help build relationships with local media and community organisations.
- Monitor website, social media and campaign performance and use insights to improve future activity.
- Manage agreed marketing spend and coordinate external suppliers such as designers, printers, photographers and videographers.
What we are looking for
- Previous experience in marketing, communications, digital content or a similar role.
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to adapt content for different audiences.
- Professional experience managing social media accounts and creating digital content.
- Confidence producing photography, graphics and/or video content.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and confidence working with colleagues at different levels.
- Good digital and IT skills, with an understanding of confidentiality, GDPR and responsible use of information and images.
- A commitment to safeguarding and a positive approach to working in an environment supporting children and young people.
Useful, but not essential
- Experience in education, SEND, charity or another purpose-led setting.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe products or similar design software.
- Website CMS, analytics, photography/video editing, PR or press-release experience.
- Experience supporting recruitment marketing or employer branding.
The package
- 24 hours per week, typically across 3 days.
- 41 working weeks per year plus 4.95 weeks paid annual leave (45.95 paid weeks in total).
- -38,00042,000 full-time equivalent, pro rata; actual salary approximately -20,14722,268 depending on experience.
- Based on site in Somerset.
