Location: Bristol - Hybrid (2-3 days on-site)

Salary: -50,000 - -55,000

Proactive are currently in search of multiple experienced Marine Engineers to start work for a client in Bristol. This is a permanent position offering ample opportunities for progression and development. The ideal candidate will have come from a defence or service background looking to take the next step in their career.

Job description

The Marine Engineer supports the maintenance, repair, inspection and operational reliability of marine machinery and associated systems. This position may involve ships, submarines, shipyard equipment or marine engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical and electrical marine equipment.
• Diagnose faults in engines, pumps, hydraulic systems and auxiliary machinery.
• Carry out inspections, testing and planned maintenance.
• Support installation, commissioning and modification of equipment.
• Review technical drawings, manuals and maintenance records.
• Ensure work complies with engineering procedures and safety standards.
• Work with other engineering disciplines to resolve equipment issues.

Experience and skills sought:

• Marine, mechanical or electro-mechanical engineering experience.
• Knowledge of machinery maintenance and fault diagnosis.
• Experience using technical documentation and maintenance procedures.
• Relevant engineering qualifications or equivalent practical experience, depending on the level.
• Willingness to work at shipyards, dockyards or other engineering sites.
