Manufacturing Engineer
We are recruiting for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to work on a permanent basis near Macclesfield.
Salary is c-50,000 per annum plus 33 days'' holiday, pension etc.
Duties/Responsibilities for the Manufacturing Engineer:
The role will focus on introducing new components and processes into production, with particular emphasis on CNC machining and stainless steel components. You will be responsible for developing robust manufacturing methods, improving tooling and processes, and supporting the successful introduction of new products into production.
This is a hands-on role combining engineering and shop-floor activity, working closely with Design Engineering, CNC Programmers and Machinists.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the manufacturing introduction of new components from design release through to full production.

Develop and optimise CNC programmes using CAM software such as FeatureCAM, Mastercam, Siemens NX, Fusion 360 or similar.

Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models and technical specifications to develop accurate toolpaths.

Define and document manufacturing processes, machining strategies and standard methods.

Develop and improve CNC tooling, fixtures and workholding solutions.

Support continuous improvement of tooling, cutting parameters, machining methods and cycle times.

Work closely with Design Engineering to optimise designs for manufacture.

Support machining trials and production activities where required.

Carry out process capability studies and support first-off and production sign-off.

Investigate and resolve manufacturing, quality, scrap and machining issues.

Maintain manufacturing documentation including routings, work instructions and tooling lists.

Provide technical support to production during trials, process changes and problem-solving activities.

Promote a strong safety culture and ensure safe working practices are maintained.
The successful Manufacturing Engineer will have:

Proven experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role within a precision or high-specification manufacturing environment.

Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling and cutting strategies.

Experience machining stainless steel components.

Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.

Practical knowledge of fixturing, workholding and tool selection.

Experience using CAM software and a good understanding of G-code and CNC machine operations.

Experience supporting NPI (New Product Introduction) within a machining environment.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively across both engineering and shop-floor environments.

A minimum of around 3 years'' relevant engineering/manufacturing experience.
