We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our Engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality electrical switchgear solutions by working closely with our Design, Fabrication, Copper Cell, and Production teams.
As a Manufacturing Engineer, you''ll be at the heart of turning innovative designs into efficient, manufacturable products. Your expertise will help drive continuous improvement, standardisation, and operational excellence, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
What You''ll Be Doing
As part of our Engineering team, you will:
- Produce accurate and detailed manufacturing designs and technical documentation for fabrication and copper assemblies.
- Ensure all designs comply with agreed build specifications, company design standards, and customer requirements.
- Work collaboratively with Planning, Production, Fabrication, Electrical Engineering, and Copper Cell teams to achieve production schedules and delivery targets.
- Create clear and accurate technical and assembly drawings to support manufacturing.
- Raise internal purchasing requests for project materials and components.
- Compile project data to support accurate invoicing and contract administration.
- Provide technical advice during design reviews and engineering meetings.
- Drive standardisation across engineering designs, reducing waste and minimising rework.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency, productivity, and quality throughout the design process.
- Promote best practice in CAD-based engineering and support the ongoing development of engineering standards.
- Ensure compliance with the company''s Business Management System and BS EN ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Maintain strong communication with management, reporting departmental concerns and supporting a positive working environment.
- Attend meetings as required and contribute to the successful delivery of engineering projects.
Who You''ll Report - Engineering Director
Essential
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Effective communication skills with colleagues at all levels.
- Sound understanding of electrical and mechanical manufacturing.
- A collaborative approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
Desirable
- Experience using SolidWorks (3D).
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor.
- AutoCAD experience.
