Senior Manufacturing EngineerLocation: Luton Sector: Defence Electronics and Mission-Critical SystemsJoin a leading defence electronics organisation at the forefront of mission-critical systems for situational awareness, electronic warfare, communications and surveillance across land, air and sea.We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to play a key role in our Manufacturing Operations business unit.In this role, you will:Lead the smooth transition of new products from design into manufactureDrive front-end manufacturing engineering activities, including DfX (Design for Manufacture, Assembly and Test)Solve production capability issues to ensure new products are introduced on time, efficiently and cost-effectivelyKey responsibilities:Develop and optimise manufacturing processes by:Studying product requirementsResearching, designing, modifying and testing manufacturing methods and equipmentGathering and acting on feedback from shop-floor operatorsWorking closely with equipment vendors and external suppliersSupport Manufacturing Maturity Reviews and maintain governance through the full Lifecycle Management processCreate and contribute to Manufacturing PlansProvide data-driven input to support:Review of production schedulesAnalysis of production labour and material costsForecasts of future requirementsPreparation of product and process reports (collecting, analysing and summarising trends)Build prototype products, write clear work instructions and train manufacturing ..... full job details .....
