Manufacturing Engineer - CMM Programming

Our client, a leading organisation in the defence and security sector, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer specialising in Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming to support detailed machining and inspection activities in Warton. This is a 12-month, full-time contract role based fully on site.Key Responsibilities:Translate CAD models, engineering drawings, material specifications and manufacturing process information into digital CMM inspection processesDevelop and implement CMM programmes for detailed machined componentsApply machining principles, design for manufacture, dimensional management and process planning knowledgeUse CATIA V4/V5, Siemens NX, LK CAMIO and Siemens Dimensional Planning Verification (DPV), or equivalent systemsApply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDandT) in accordance with ISO and ASME standardsSupport manufacturing engineering development and implementation activities, managing work to cost and scheduleRespond effectively to unplanned events and deliver work to tight deadlinesMaintain high standards of safety, health and environmental compliance while communicating effectively across multiple organisational levelsJob Requirements:HNC, HND, engineering degree or recognised apprenticeship in Manufacturing Engineering, supported by significant relevant experienceExperience in CMM programming, inspection and detailed machining processesIn-depth knowledge of machining manufacturing processes and associated inspection requirementsExperience ..... full job details .....
