Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as a Turner. This role involves working within a manufacturing or engineering environment, focusing on fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of large mechanical components. The successful candidate will utilise a range of technical skills to contribute to the production of high-quality products, ensuring safety and efficiency at all times. Duties

• Operate and programme programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to control machinery and processes
• Fabricate components using milling, and other machining techniques
• Handle materials safely within the workshop environment, including materials handling and tooling management
• Perform assembly of mechanical parts, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications
• Utilise hand tools and power tools for fabrication, assembly, and maintenance tasks
• Conduct basic mathematical calculations to determine measurements, tolerances, and material requirements
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed and assist in troubleshooting mechanical issues
• Follow health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment at all times

Skills

• Proven experience in fabrication, milling, and assembly processes
• Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their application in manufacturing settings
• Mechanical knowledge related to materials handling, tooling, and equipment maintenance
• Ability to operate hand tools effectively and safely
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail in assembly and fabrication tasks
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations required during production processes
• Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential; a proactive attitude towards learning is essential
• Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently
