Location: West Byfleet
Job Type: Full-time Permenant Day shift
Salary: £16 - £17 per hour

Job Purpose:

To produce high-quality precision components using manual milling machines in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications. The role involves setup, operation, and basic maintenance of manual milling equipment to support production or prototyping work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.

• Set up and operate manual milling machines such as Bridgport or XYZ.

• Machine parts to tight tolerances, maintaining high standards of accuracy and finish.

• Select appropriate tools, speeds, feeds, and cutting paths for each operation.

• Measure and inspect components using a variety of hand tools and gauges (e.g., micrometers, verniers, height gauges).

• Deburr and finish machined components as required.

• Ensure proper documentation of work (e.g., job cards, inspection records).

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Perform basic machine maintenance and report faults or issues.

• Work safely and adhere to all health & safety regulations.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience operating manual milling machines in a workshop environment.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

• Skilled in using measuring instruments for in-process and final inspection.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Knowledge of machining processes, materials, and tooling.

• Good understanding of health & safety practices.
