Job Title: Manual Machinist Salary: £30,000 £35,000 per annum, depending on experienceJob Type: PermanentLocation: OakhamAn established engineering business is looking for an experienced Manual Machinist to join its workshop team.This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with strong experience in manual milling and centre lathe work, particularly someone who enjoys producing quality one-off and small-batch components to drawing and specification.The RoleYou will be responsible for setting and operating manual milling machines and centre lathes to produce accurate components across a range of engineering applications.Your responsibilities will include:Setting and operating manual milling machines to produce components from engineering drawings.Setting and operating manual centre lathes for turning, facing, boring, threading and general machining operations.Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.Selecting appropriate cutting tools, speeds and feeds for different materials and machining operations.Using micrometers, verniers, gauges and other precision measuring equipment to ensure accuracy.Producing one-off and small-batch components to required tolerances.Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality and drawing requirements.Carrying out general workshop duties, including basic machine maintenance, tool care and housekeeping.Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment.About YouThe successful candidate ..... full job details .....
