Manual Machinist

Adept Resourcing are currently working with a long-established precision engineering business in Sheffield that is looking to recruit an experienced Manual Machinist to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled individual who takes pride in producing high-quality, one-off or small batch components for use in demanding environments.

This role is ideal for a time-served machinist with experience on manual lathes and mills, looking for a stable, long-term position in a well-equipped and supportive workshop.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting and operating manual lathes and milling machines to produce bespoke components to tight tolerances.
• Interpreting and working from engineering drawings.
• Using measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers, gauges) to ensure quality standards are met.
• Carrying out one-off and low-volume machining work with a high degree of precision.
• Working independently to plan and complete tasks in a timely manner.

Candidate Requirements:

• Time-served or experienced Manual Machinist with a background in turning and/or milling.
• Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Experience with a variety of materials including steel, stainless, and alloys.
• Comfortable working in a workshop environment on custom or low-volume jobs.

• -17.50 - -20.50 per hour
• Monday - Friday - Day shift hours with early Friday finishes
