Manual Machinist

Our client, a leading manufacturer supplying the defence sector, is looking for an experienced Lathe Area Machinist / Production Supervisor-to join their production team.

This is a hands-on leadership role, overseeing the technical operation of a busy machining department consisting of 16 multispindle lathes, a cold heading press and associated equipment operating within a high-volume manufacturing environment. You''ll work closely with the Production Supervisor to drive performance, resolve technical issues, support the team and identify continuous improvement opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate

• 5-10 years'' experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of multispindle lathe machines and ancillary equipment.
• Experience working within a 24/7 or shift-based production environment.
• Excellent mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and a continuous improvement mindset.
• Confident leading, training and supporting production teams.
