Manual Lathe Operator

Job Title: Manual Lathe Turner Hours Of Work: Monday to Friday, Rotating 6-2, 2-10 Location: Halesowen The Role, Follow relevant procedures in the production operations in the machining of components, ensuring finished components meet the necessary quality standards and delivery timescales. Responsibilities, Interpret 2D drawings and specificationsPlan and work out machining features and sequences.Select correct machines, tools, speeds, feeds, and lubricants.Set up, locate, and clamp workpieces (centres, banding and steadies).Perform dimensional inspection and layout "mark off".Inspect components at various stages to ensure quality standards.Trouble shoot and make necessary adjustments.Deburr components for safe material movement.Operate overhead cranes (LOLER training provided).Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised workplace.Perform TPM activities (swarf removal, coolant routines, oiling/greasing).Monitor and maintain consumable stock levels.Carry out daily bookings against route card jobs.Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies. Requirements Min 2 years'' experience in manual lathe turningAbility to interpret complex engineering drawings.Lifting and slinging capabilities.Full understanding of Health and Safety in heavy engineering.
