Our client is a well-established contractor delivering a range of civil engineering, utilities and infrastructure projects across Scotland. Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, they are looking to appoint an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for the commercial management of key projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional looking for a senior position with genuine responsibility and the opportunity to play an important role within a growing business.

The Role:

• Take overall commercial responsibility for a portfolio of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

• Lead and develop a team of Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors.

• Manage project budgets, forecasts, valuations, applications and final accounts.

• Lead subcontract procurement, negotiation and commercial management.

• Monitor project performance, costs, variations and commercial risk.

• Manage change control and ensure contractual entitlement is protected.

• Work closely with operational teams, clients and supply chain partners.

• Produce accurate monthly commercial reports and forecasts.

• Support senior management with commercial strategy and business planning.

• Ensure projects are delivered in line with commercial and contractual requirements.

The Person:

• Significant Quantity Surveying experience within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure.

• Previous experience operating at Managing or Senior Quantity Surveyor level.

• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.

• Experience managing and developing junior commercial staff.

• Strong understanding of NEC contracts.

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

• Commercially astute with strong attention to detail.

• Relevant degree/HNC/HND or equivalent experience.
