Associate Director | Placing senior financial talent into PE situationsAxon Moore have been retained to support a a forward-thinking accountancy firm known for delivering exceptional client solutions across a range of industries. With a strong focus on innovation, client service, and sustainable growth, the Accountancy Practice Division plays a pivotal role in supporting businesses and individuals with expert financial insight and regulatory compliance. They are now seeking an experienced, strategic, and visionary Managing Director to lead the Accountancy Practice Division and help shape the next phase of its growth.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Define and execute the strategic direction of the Practice Division in alignment with the wider goals of the organisation.
Operational Management:
Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient delivery of services, optimisation of internal processes, and adherence to professional standards and regulatory requirements.
Business Development:
Identify and pursue growth opportunities, both organic and through potential acquisitions or partnerships. Lead major client pitches and develop key client relationships.
Team Leadership and Development:
Inspire, lead, and develop a high-performing team of partners, directors, and staff. Foster a collaborative and inclusive culture that values professional development.
Financial Oversight:
Manage divisional budgets, forecasting, and PandL performance. Drive profitability through cost control, pricing strategies, and service innovation.
Risk and Compliance:
Ensure all regulatory, ethical, and professional compliance standards are met or exceeded, including those set by ICAEW, ACCA, and other relevant bodies.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Serve as a key member of the senior leadership team, working closely with the Group CEO and other Directors. Report regularly on performance and strategy execution.
Requirements
ACA, ACCA, or equivalent accountancy qualification.
Proven track record in a senior leadership role within an accountancy practice (e.g. Partner, Director, Managing Director).
Strong background in audit, tax, or advisory services.
Demonstrable success in driving growth, improving profitability, and leading high-performing teams.
Deep understanding of industry regulations, standards, and best practices.
Commercially astute with excellent strategic planning abilities.
Outstanding leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Confident in managing change and innovation within a professional services environment.
Committed to client service excellence and ethical leadership.
