The team leads and supports the control environment across Markets Operations, Markets Platform and Trade Surveillance and identifies control solutions to support the CIB and LBCM business.We’re seeking a Risk and Controls subject matter expert who specialises in Markets Operations and Surveillance, ensuring CIB remain maintains and enhances the effective and efficient operation of controls relied on by our Risk Owners and in line with regulatory expectations, as CIB seeks to implement the Group’s strategy to grow, focus and change at pace.Key AccountabilitiesProactively support with Continuous Risk Management (CRM) activities and ensure these are carried out in line with Group appetiteSupport in finding opportunities to simplify, optimise, and automate controls using data analytics, innovative technology, and understanding embedded system based controlsAssess the effectiveness of controls and create insights with new indicators and data analysisLead on Risk Assessments and Control Self AssessmentsProvide independent control testing supportDrive actions arising from operational risk events and breaches and applying lessons learned into control enhancementsValidation of Operational Risk eventsEnsure that Control by Design is embedded in our Platforms and Strategic initiativesMaintain data within Risk Open Pages to ensure it is accurate and up-to-dateSupport wider CIB/CCO ad hoc projects when required, to provide Control inputsDeputise for management at relevant meetings and liaise with Risk Specialists regarding any regulatory developments, changes or enquiriesWhat You’ll NeedWe’re looking for a driven, independent individual with a passion for understanding Risk and Controls from a Markets perspective. Your application should demonstrate:Markets Product Knowledge
– Understanding of products relevant to the CIB and LBCM business, and how they operate across pre- and post-trade processes in Operations.Control Insight and Innovation
– Experience identifying and implementing control enhancements using data-led solutions, including automation and system-based controls.Surveillance Controls
– Familiarity with surveillance control frameworks and their application in a regulated environmentStakeholder Engagement
– Ability to build strong working relationships across CIB, LBCM, BCB, Risk Specialists, and other business functions.Communication Skills
– Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to translate complex or technical information clearly.Delivery Focus
– Proven ability to prioritise, manage multiple tasks, and deliver under tight timeframes.Strategic Approach
